Vietnam launched the Truong Sa mini submarine for the first sea test

At 2:15 p.m., at Ocean Shipbuilding Company, Diem Dien port (Thuy Hai commune, Thai Thuy district) located 30 km from Thai Binh city, the Truong Sa mini submarine was launched by Mr. Hoa and his colleagues for testing. First experience at sea.

Two fishermen’s fishing boats acted as pilots to tow the submarine out toward the river mouth, toward buoy number 0.

The outside of the ship is covered in glossy black paint; On the side of the ship is the word Truong Sa 01. The national flag is painted crimson on the cabin and side of the door.

The Truong Sa submarine headed straight to buoy number 0. The main operator was Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoa.

 

At 3:30 p.m., the submarine operated well in the sea. This test attracted the attention of port authorities, border guards and customs, Mr. Hoa said.

Mr. Hoa started the Truong Sa mini submarine to begin diving.

Previously, Mr. Hoa and his colleagues had successfully tested the boat many times in self-made tanks and natural lakes.

Recently, Mr. Hoa wanted to test in the sea area outside buoy number 0 at Diem Dien port but was not approved by the Provincial People’s Committee for the reason that “the company has not calculated and surveyed all geographical information.” , hydrology. At the same time, the province lacks rescue and emergency vehicles, so it cannot ensure life safety when an incident occurs.” The province requested the Ministry of National Defense to support and test at the Naval Command Region 1.

During this test, Mr. Hoa introduced a newer air circulation system and equipped the ship with a horizontal scanning radar.

However, due to strong winds and waves along with accidents during the submarine transportation process, the rudder was broken and the propeller was broken, so at 6:00 p.m., Mr. Hoa and his colleagues stopped testing and brought the ship back to the mainland. 

The Truong Sa 01 submarine is designed to have a displacement of 12 tons when submerged and 9.2 tons when surfaced, with an operating radius of 800 km. The ship can dive to a depth of 50 m and move close to or lie still on the seabed. The ship is equipped with two 90Hp engines. When diving, the ship uses AIP technology, the designed diving time is 15 hours; Operating time at sea is 15 days.
