When the owners of a dog  know that it is suffering from a delicate illness, but do nothing to help it,  it is a terrible case of negligence. There are even cases of people who  prefer to abandon them on the streets  so as not to have to face the expense of medical treatment.Veterinarians estimate that this puppy is between 6 and 7 years old.

This was the case of a golden dog named  Henry , who  the police found with a tumor that weighed no less than 20 kilos . They found him wandering on a beach, trying to find food; And when they approached him and saw the severity of his tumor, they decided  to do everything they could to help him .“He had  so much life and love to give  that we wanted to give him a second chance.”

Valerie Schomburg,  Animal Control Supervisor  at Newport Beach Police shared how surprising this case was to her. Henry  was the sweetest dog she had ever met , but it was clear that the huge tumor in his side was making his life very difficult.The weight of the tumor was equivalent to almost double the weight of the animal.

His front legs were making an enormous effort to support Henry  and in order to relieve himself he had a hard time finding a suitable position that would not cause him  great pain due to the tumor.According to veterinarians, the tumor posed an imminent risk to Henry’s life and promised to continue growing.

Valerie was not the only one who was shocked by the advanced state of Henry’s tumor,  the doctors who treated him were moved  when they met him:“Most of the veterinarians who treated him  had never seen such a large tumor before. ”

Valerie shared the case of cute Henry, and there were many  anonymous donors who decided to give their grain of sand so that the operation that  the cute golden so needed  could be performed  .Valerie managed to raise almost all of Henry’s medical expenses through donations.

The operation for such a large tumor  did not promise to be easy , but luckily  the doctors were able to remove it completely . After a few weeks Henry was completely  healthy and without any tumor . He now looks like another dog and  doesn’t stop running and playing  to celebrate that they saved his life.His legs and hips were slightly affected by the additional weight of the tumor, but Henry will not suffer serious consequences.

After exhaustive investigations,  the police managed to find Henry’s owner  who initially lied and  claimed that the dog was not hers . The evidence indicated otherwise, and now the woman will have to  face charges of animal neglect  and obstruction of justice.Sherri Haughton, the owner, must pay a fine of more than $7,000.It is a relief that beautiful Henry is free of that terrible tumor and that the person responsible for such terrible negligence has also been found.We invite you to share this cute golden’s impressive improvement to celebrate his new life.
