They are really among the largest dolphins, standing up to eight feet (2.5 m) tall and weighing 400 pounds (180 Kg). However, the fact that they are pink makes them much more distinctive. But in reality, they were born a drab gray tint and only become pink as they get older.
In addition, some conditions, such as exposure to sunshine, nutrition, or when they become aroused, can make male dolphins even pinker. The Amazon River dolphin received international protection for the first time in 2018.
