Kevin was born healthy and developed normally until he was four years old. Then, inexplicably, he lost the ability to walk and started crawling again. His mother, Juliane, took him to various hospitals, but the doctors could not diagnose his condition initially. After numerous checkups, they realized Kevin’s bones were becoming increasingly soft, a condition known as osteomalacia. Osteomalacia causes bones to become so weak that they bend and break easily, much like plastic or glass.
Juliane and her husband sold everything they had, including their house and property, to pay for Kevin’s medical treatments. Tragically, Kevin’s father passed away during this period, leaving Juliane to care for their three children alone. Despite her best efforts, she couldn’t afford the expensive treatments that Kevin needed, and his condition worsened.
Now 11 years old, Kevin is too heavy for his mother to carry, and he needs a wheelchair. Juliane struggles daily to provide for her family, working tirelessly to put food on the table and pay for Kevin’s hospital bills. Kevin’s siblings attend school, but he remains locked up at home due to his fragile condition. Despite this, Kevin’s mind remains sharp, and he dreams of going to school and making friends like other children.
Juliane’s only hope is to raise funds for Kevin’s treatment and a wheelchair. She has set up a GoFundMe campaign to collect donations, hoping to provide her son with a better quality of life and a chance at recovery. The link to donate is provided in the description of each video and pinned as the top comment by Afrimax English.
Kevin’s story is a poignant reminder of the unpredictable nature of life and the resilience of the human spirit. Despite the challenges, Juliane and Kevin continue to fight, holding onto hope for a better future.
