The futuristic Sky Whale will be bigger than an Airbus A380 and like a spaceship with wings that can self-heal.
Spanish-based designer Oscar Viñals has designed a futuristic super plane called the Sky Whale. It applies the most modern technology with a huge capacity of up to 755 passengers, saving airlines.

Sky Whale super plane is designed with a wingspan of 88m compared to 80m of Airbus A380 and 64m of Boeing 747. The fuselage will be made of new materials from including or synthetic fibers. The Sky Whale will also be equipped with ‘flexible wings’ using a more efficient hybrid propulsion system than current aircraft.
The Sky Whale can also fly longer distances than current planes without refueling, and it will install small solar panels on its wings to generate electricity from sunlight. According to Oscar Viñals, the plane’s engine can be tilted 45 degrees to help it land on small runways.
The wings of the Sky Whale aircraft are equipped with self-healing technology when damaged. In addition, if the plane crashes, the fuselage will automatically separate from the way to reduce the risk of loss of life.
“Designing the wings separately from the fuselage is a measure of increased safety. In the worst case scenario of an emergency landing, the plane’s wings will separate from the fuselage to minimize damage to the passenger cabin,” said Oscar Viñals.
The efficiency of all the technologies applied will help the Sky Whale reduce friction, fuel consumption and weight, making it one of the most environmentally friendly aircraft imaginable.
