Strange creature up to 25 meters long, like a giant snake
Many people in the Chukotka peninsula (Russia) were bewildered and scared when they discovered many strange creatures, like giant snakes. The answer to their mystery, however, was surprising.

Accordingly, soon after discovering many monstrous creatures washed ashore, local people reported to experts at Beringia National Park to find out exactly about these “monsters”.
Experts at Beringia National Park said the creature was neither a sea snake nor a sea worm. They are actually Nereocystis luetkeana, a relative of brown algae. This species is said to be “immigrant” from the United States.
They are distributed mainly along the Pacific coast of North America, from Unalaska Island to California. This algae can grow up to 25 meters long and gradually expands its canopy at the top.

In addition, at the end of the algae body, there is a bubble up to 20cm in diameter, which looks like a snake’s head. They are not familiar creatures of the Chukotka peninsula.
Nereocystis luetkeana begins to grow in February, detaches from the ground in December, and “cruises” over the sea across the Pacific Ocean. Usually, the stems of this algae wash ashore on the Aleutian Islands and the Commander Islands (Russia).

The video shows about a quarter of the total number of snails colonizing the beach.
According to experts, Cerith snails, which often live on reefs or reefs in many parts of the world, especially in tropical areas, have a warm climate.
According to Lucy McGinnis, former research assistant at the Sea Turtle Center of Georgia (USA), these snails can also come to shallow water to feed after a storm occurs.
