At AUSA 2023, General Dynamics Land Systems unveiled the Stryker

At this year’s Association of the United States Army (AUSA) annual meeting, General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) unveiled an innovative Stryker variant aimed at enhancing battlefield capabilities for the future. Designated the StrykerQB, this technology demonstrator vehicle features several advancements that could see combat by the end of the decade.

The StrykerQB integrates a high-tech Mission Equipment Package (MEP) that empowers the vehicle and its dismounted troops to achieve overmatch in future operating environments. Key enhancements focus on command, control, communications, computing, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C5ISR).

Onboard the StrykerQB MEP are cutting-edge electronic warfare systems, robust networking and data sharing abilities, and next-gen sensors designed to enable speed of recognition and targeting. The crew cabin also boasts touchscreen displays, embedded training capabilities, and improved situational awareness tools.

Armament on the StrykerQB consists of a remotely operated turret armed with either a 30 mm cannon or Javelin anti-tank missiles. This allows the Stryker to provide direct firepower support for dismounted infantry.

According to GDLS, the StrykerQB demonstrator will help the Army evaluate emerging technologies that can be integrated onto the Stryker platform. Insights gained could lay the groundwork for future Stryker modernization programs and development of the Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle.

The innovative StrykerQB underscores GDLS’s commitment to evolving the Stryker family to meet changing battlefield needs. With its sophisticated C5ISR capabilities, this technology demonstrator aims to give both vehicle crews and infantry squads a decisive tactical edge in the fights ahead.
