If you have the privilege of having a faithful canine companion in your home, surely you already know one of the reasons why dogs are recognized as the best friends of human beings: they do know how to love, when they are loved or not . They return affection without conditions, reservations and without any commitment.
Dogs love life in the present, they are not obsessed with the past or worry about tomorrow, but live each moment to the fullest, always grateful just for the fact that they exist . We don’t know how lucky we are to have them.
When they suffer from an accident or illness that disables them, they do not get sad or depressed like we human beings, but they adapt to this new reality quite quickly once they recover .
Kellar ‘s story is exemplary, he is a sweet three-year-old Springer Spaniel who was born with total loss of vision , but, in reality, the furry is so cheerful and optimistic that he never shows it. He doesn’t let his disability get to him or get him down in the slightest.
Blindness is one of the most common disabilities in dogs, but Kellar is determined to live a normal life, just like everyone else . It is this ability to face the adversities of these animals that makes them teachers worthy of imitation by people.
“We could all learn a valuable lesson from our dogs in terms of being happy despite the struggles we may face in life,” said their keeper.
In a fabulous video we see him happily running around the yard. His blindness does not prevent him from behaving and playing fetch the ball that his human throws at him over and over again, like any energetic and playful puppy. It is something amazing that we cannot stop seeing.
“Are you ready? Find her!” the human is heard saying of him on the recording.
Kellar chases after the ball, guided by the woman’s shouts of encouragement, who tells him “hot” or “cold” , as the case may be, until finally the cute little animal takes the ball and carries it back to where a gigantic hug, shows that with love, everything is achieved.
However, and although it is not the case of Kellar, it is important not to leave aside a sad, but true fact. Contrary to their strength and desire to improve and adapt, disabled dogs not only suffer the physical effects of their condition, but also the psychological effects produced by discrimination.
These animals are subject to social rejection when they are adopted, they also suffer a lack of attention, care and affection , just like people with disabilities. This means that this does not only affect people and whoever suffers from it always generates great discrimination with which we have to end.
We must not forget, on the other hand, the important work that these animals do with people who suffer from certain disabilities such as blindness. Don’t you think that people should return that love and help when they are the ones who suffer? Share this beautiful story of perseverance and love for life with your loved ones.
