Dogs can sometimes get into trouble due to their mischief and curiosity. Dogs generally do not evaluate the dangers and risks they face while playing or adventuring, they can even get their head stuck in a pipe, as this dog did.

In the town of Arbyrd, Missouri, in the southern United States, the Kennett Fire Department received a report that a homeless dog was trapped in a pipe and was difficult to remove. That was an emergency scenario.

When rescuers arrived at the scene, they recognized the seriousness of the problem. According to Kait 8, the animal was trapped at approximately 8:00 in the morning last Thursday, May 20, in the Black Gold Potato Field region.

It took a lot of work and sophisticated equipment to free it. In reality, it took firefighters 5 hours of work to remove the lint from the tube, which needed to be cut.

“We were extremely careful about where we were cutting, how we were doing it, and trying to keep the animal calm was a really difficult aspect to do,” said Fire Chief Paul Spain.

“We effectively minimized it. Once again the poor animal was fatigued, very dehydrated, very hungry,” Spain said.

In fact, the canine had to be transported with a piece of tube still to the Kennett Veterinary Clinic. That’s when they anesthetized her and removed the rest of the metal thing that trapped her.

“He wagged his tail every time they took (the pipe) out and he became more alert, so it was a really wonderful result. Pet lives are as valuable as human lives to many of us. We were very excited that they even called us,” said España.

“He’s going to have a nice home,” added the firefighter.
